THE GROWING WOMAN
How stepping out of my comfort zone helped me find where I belong
Moving from Zimbabwe to Hungary has been more than just an academic journey—it has been a journey of personal growth, self-discovery, and stepping into a new version of myself.
Stepping Into the Unknown
Moving from Zimbabwe to Hungary was more than just a change in environment—it was a step into the unknown. A new culture, new people, and a completely different life.
Understanding Myself
Growing up, I found it difficult to build friendships that lasted. Many people see me as an extrovert, but in reality, I am an introvert. I’ve always needed the right space to open up and truly be myself.
Finding My Place
Being far from home wasn’t always easy. There were moments of loneliness and uncertainty, but also moments of growth that shaped me into a stronger and more self-aware person.
A Space to Belong
Through ESN, I found a community where I feel accepted and included. It helped me become more social, more involved, and more connected in a way that feels natural to me.
Beyond the Classroom
This journey has taught me that growth doesn’t only happen in the classroom—it happens in the people we meet, the spaces we enter, and the courage we find within ourselves.
And for the first time, I can truly say—I feel like I belong.
